A new report by a coalition of environmental groups and researchers has spilled the (green) tea on Meta making millions on advertising that greenwashes fossil fuel companies and spreads disinformation about climate change. Over $4 million was spent on Facebook and Instagram ads that disparaged the transition to clean energy. The report also revealed that Twitter has become a hot-spot for climate denialism in 2022 with the hashtag #climatescam seeing a significant rise. This makes us wonder how much 'free speech' is being bought to spread a different narrative about climate change.

Colombia's Break-Up with Fossil Fuels Could be Messy

Colombia's government is turning over a green leaf by ending new oil and gas exploration projects, it's like they're putting the brakes on drilling and shifting gears towards sustainability. Colombia will not approve any new oil and gas exploration projects and will look to shift away from fossil fuels. But not everyone is on board with this plan, some critics, including the country’s finance minister, say that halting oil exploration will not affect the global demand for fossil fuels and will also be a hard pill to swallow for the Colombian economy.
